Can't the fix get backported? It's a tremendously crippling bug and a

Still an issue. In fact now I have duplicate items showing up on my Desktop.
Anyway, if I create a new file in ~/Desktop, I get these three lines in the
journal:

I've opened a separate issue for the Refresh Desktop option not actually
