I could not reproduce this on a new installation, same distro. So probably a
configuration issue.

I think this is still a global menu issue.
I have an empty space at the place, where it is showing up, when an application
is open, that supports global menu.
When I press on that empty space, it persists as well.

It seems like this happens without global menu being used as well.
