Bug ID: 481915 Summary: Text on the Digital clock when on a vertical panel, should be rotated and read from bottom to top (or top to bottom, if you are inclined that way) Classification: Plasma Product: plasmashell Version: 5.93.0 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Digital Clock Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: cmdrkoto...@gmail.com Target Milestone: 1.0 Created attachment 166148 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=166148&action=edit Screenshot of clock on a panel in both orientations SUMMARY When the default panel is placed in a vertical orientation, the digital clock tries to sandwich its text in the width of the panel, (44 pixels on my system,) rather than laying it out in a vertical fashion. As a result, the text becomes extremely tiny and barely readable. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Move the default panel to a vertical orientation OBSERVED RESULT Text is unreadable EXPECTED RESULT Text is rotated vertically SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: Arch Linux KDE Plasma Version: 5.93.0 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.249.0 Qt Version: 6.7.0 Kernel Version: 6.7.6-arch1-1 (64-bit) Graphics Platform: Wayland Processors: 16 × AMD Ryzen 7 2700X Eight-Core Processor Memory: 31.3 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: AMD Radeon RX 6500 XT ADDITIONAL INFORMATION When drafting, vertical text is always rotated counter clockwise 90 degrees and laid out from bottom to top. However, we may wish to support the other vertical orientation as well. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
