The problem is seen in Dolphin. I did not realise the widget style is supposed
to apply only to KDE applications.

An example is the dialogue which appears when you open a .csv document using
the Calc application of LibreOffice or OpenOffice. The default options in the
dialogue are filled with colour instead

It works here. Some random comments:
- Make sure you are actually changing the style for the correct Qt version. For
Qt5 applications, start systemsettings5, for Qt4 applications, "kcmshell4
