Actually, it seems that the problem goes as deep as Qt as Xinerama.

My mouse cursor has to be enormous so I can see it. When I launch Krita, the
cursor becomes microscopic when it's on top of any Krita window. Please stop

According to another forum's post on a similar issue, -nolisten inet6 solves
this issue. Would be nice to be able to customize some of the options passed to
