The cause is the Chrome browser in digiKam. This refuses to start as "root"
user. I don't know if we have the option to disable the sandbox in the Chrome
browser, I think we shouldn't.

Pano size is 31264 x 14884 pixels => 465M pixels.
I never generated a pano with this kind of size.
Here under Linux with 32 Gb of RAM, i can see the thumbnails, Load the image in

The whole issue seems to be a bug in some qt styles. The issue is visible with
the styles motif, cde, Windows, and Fusion.

Thank for info, Qt5Webkit is the default on Gentoo, I switched to Qt5WebEngine
