Also, try deleting the gtkrc and then apply settings from the KCM. Will the

kde-gtk-config updates ~/.config/xsettingsd/xsettingsd.conf file, because
xsettingsd seeks it's configuration in various places, not just home directory.

In the next version of Plasma (5.19) there is no option of Breeze-Dark scheme
in the list any longer, since the Breeze grabs its colors from the color
