Well, having real icons for the buttons would be good. It just looks better and
there were colored icons before. After that I can look into using icons also
for the "<=>" column in the file view.

And specially the "!=" text icon is bad as not everybody may understand it.

What do you suggest? Of course, you can make a mockup. But I would like to
avoid changes which are not really necessary. In the past there were often
users who felt not comfortable with changes to UI and workflow they were used
to for years. It's hard to satisfy everybody.

I still would really like to have the three new icons.

sorry that you didn't get an answer.

the master view look quite good with the "text" icons cause the "icons" are the
same than you have in the file compare view.

I can make you icons if needed but I'd like to ask if I can make a mockup for
the compare dialogue. I know the dialog come from total commander but that
doesn't mean that you can't change it. 

I use krusader for three features
 1. search
 2. start krusader as root
 3. sync and compare folders

oh, icon name recommendation:

- "equals" or "document-equals"
- equivalent "unequals" or "document-unequals"
- "swap" or "swap-sides" or "swap-panels"

No problem. Here are more information and screenshots. Should have provided
them earlier.

"Synchronizer" is a tool in Krusader with an own window. It can compare content
of folders and synchronize them. See first screenshot, the icons in question
are marked.

I definitely need an icon with only the equal sign (for another use case: show
same folder in both panels; see second screenshot) and it would also better fit
here to other icons next to it (see first screenshot).

Yes, there are logically connected - but also with other icons: arrow-right,
arrow-left and trash (= show deleted files). Again: please see screenshot.

Yes. Visualizing the panels would fit here. But maybe its better to make it
more general, so it can be used in other cases/applications. I don't want you
guys to make icons for every single use case.

For clarity of the icons - I am not a big Krusader user myself so just 
want to ask some (perhaps obvious) questions concerning the usage so we 
don't make icons that are more confusing than anything else.

Show Equal Files - would an equal sign be clear enough or would for

Show Unequal Files - should share some kind of similarity with the 
Equal Files icon so that both are "connected" in my logic (which is why 
say a document or file symbol with an equal/unequal sign in it would
