The bug only occurs when the scaling setting in KDE's "Display Settings" page is set to something other than 1x. It looks like the X11 screenshot is actually higher resolution than the Wayland one, which would explain why it's sharper. I've added two screenshots with Konsole fully maximized on the left half of the screen. One thing I noticed is that they wayland screenshot has only half the resolution. That's why the file sizes are wildly different. That peaked my curiosity and I took another screenshot with display scaling set to 1x instead of the default 2x.
