I have other longer files that Amarok doesn't play either (more than 10 minutes
long).

Amarok problem. Which Phonon backend do you use?

FWIW: the question about where the tracks were located was to know if those
were local or on a remote share. Some Samba shares have lags that don't cope
well with short tracks

output of amarok -d --nofork while trying to play 4 files

The first 3 files won't play. The fourth plays normally. All four are located
in the same repertory (same album). All four have already been played.

Please run amarok in debug mode and check the output in the konsole when you
try to play the file.
Running Amarok in debug mode is done by starting amarok from a konsole with

amarok -d --nofork

What might also be helpful is to know where those files are located, and of
course to check the permissions of those files, they should be readable AND
writeable for the user.
