I confirm that problem is not reproducible here with Windows 7.
Q: Do you use a special path scheme name to host ORF files, as non latin1
characters ?

I've tried in other computer with windows 10 and fresh DigiKam installation;
the problem persists.
It only shows the thumbnail and when you to open DNG file the only thing you
get it's a black image.(in some cases
