I can confirm what Ryan said, and I had problems with Flatpak version as usual,
so I'm on DaVinci Resolve for now.
I have to say the AppImage version should have higher priority, as it's the
best way to use the app from my experience.

Yes, Pressing V does insert clips onto the timeline.

I've also noticed I cannot drag an effect onto a video clip in the timeline
either

Using Ubuntu 23.04 on X11

The latest version from the package manager in ubuntu (Installed via snap)
