Kate has the same problem: I've paste the konsole output with buggy chars to kate and I see the same wrong drawing when I change to a 'buggy' font. No idea, whom to blame, KF5? With a font that shows my problem and one that does not, I always saw 1 followed by a long dash followed by 2. Only NotoMono shows strikeout 1 followed by 2 like in xterm.
