Yes, that's the point for me too.

Would be great if the brush in use could appear at the top of the list at the
first brushstroke with it.

(In Natron, every time you click a node its corresponding panel is promoted to
the top of the side panel. Something similar for the logic).

This would be good to bring up when we discuss other ways to sort and organize
brushes in the future. Sorting by their usage amount is one way people are
wanting to find their favorite brushes. I would personally like this too since
I only use a few of them.
