Sorry, path was wrong as you probably realize.

Should be "/usr/share/plasma/plasmoids/org.kde.plasma.activitypager"

Think I have found the problem. If I use the Activity Bar instead of the
Activity Pager widget, the problem does not occur.

Checking the file system reveals in
"/usr/share/plasma/org.kde.plasma.activitypager" the subfolders and file
"/contents/ui/main.qml" are missing.

Regarding the forum discussion: Cobber mentioned that the culprit is maybe
KActivites. Can somebody confirm? Then we should move the bug report to this
component instead of general Neon.

The latest updates released on 14th October have not fixed this problem.

If you create an Activity, it will work until you log out or reboot. You are
then greeted with the black screen with pointer once you have logged in.
