Bug ID: 371181 Summary: Add Unity-like HUD into KDE Product: plasmashell Version: 5.8.2 Platform: Archlinux Packages URL: http://www.pcworld.com/article/248665/ubuntu_linuxs_ne w_hud_interface_will_do_away_with_menus.html OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: k...@davidedmundson.co.uk Reporter: kentallend...@gmail.com CC: bhus...@gmail.com, plasma-b...@kde.org To quote from the URL: "Called 'HUD,' or 'Head-Up Display,' the new interface is designed to recognize users' intent in interacting with the desktop rather than forcing them to navigate a rigid menu system to get things done." Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Press hotkey to start the HUD 2. The user types whatever they want from the application. 3. Wait for the HUD to return results. Actual Results: Feature isn't implemented Expected Results: The HUD outputs the menu the user wants along with suggestions, saving time from looking into the application menus. The Unity HUD feature in Ubuntu is quite useful. I often get lost in the menus quite often, so searching up the option I need (for example, in Libreoffice, I always forget where the option to include headers in the document is in the menu). I was thinking maybe this could be integrated into the “Search” plasmoid, but it’ll be nice however way. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
