Is there any way I could move the email from the old Kmail to the new one?
I have copied them from ~/.kde/share/apps/kmail/mail/* to
~/.kde4/share/apps/kmail/mail/* but it doesn't seem to work.
Any suggestions?

I found that if I switch system language to English, then it starts normally.
I'm Chinese. I think it's related to i18n.
