KDE Address Book (traditional) is deprecated. Don't use it.
There's something wrong in the opensuse package.
the LDAP settings are supposed to be available directly in KAdressbook:

It is. If you don't see this option in the view menu while using kontact, it
likely means you're using an old version.

SC 4.8.1 (Kubuntu).
