Don't really know what to say, I've got the exact same problem.
5.25.5 on archlinux.
Usually, the first mail I send works ok, at least if that's shortly after a new
plasma session. But if I try to send another one

Same here, but with an almost empty akonadi configuration… all mail is done
through thunderbird.

15.08 is much faster. I see 1s of culumated query time for what took like 100
before. Case closed as far as I'm concerned :)

I forgot to mention that this query alone used 1hour of cpu time this morning
on my laptop…

Sorry, I had to stop using kmail, so I cannot test it… I had something like 1
million files in my akonadi's mysql directory, so it was becoming unusable once
more.

I may have found something: I only have the problem when moving several mails
at once. It doesn't seem to occur when I do them one by one.

I haven't had this bug for 3 weeks now. I just kept 10 favorites.

It seems to have solved the problem here too… but I had to destroy and recreate
my akonadi database from scratch.

Wow, I think I have found what happened here. The problem only occurs when I
start putting a lot of folders in my favorites. It just happened right now.
After 24 hours of kmail working flawlessly

Not the problem I am having either… no two boxes with the same name.

It seems we are not having exactly the same problem, PeterF: my kmail isn't
leaking memory.
So I think it would be better for you to create another bug report, if you have
this behaviour again
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=323929
--- Comment #2 from Marc Cousin cousinm...@gmail.com ---
Yes, it doesn't feel like it is an indexing problem. More that kmail is asking
again and again what is in a few folders.

It happens on all unread messages, as far as I'm concerned. There is no
correlation with GPG-signed emails at all.

I think I'm getting a better view of what's happening:
When I mark a mail as 'read', it isn't marked as read in the UI (it doesn't
change color). If I let it that way

Yes, verified on my computer, this doesn't change the Testing wordwrap
functionality using a line of exactly seventy eight caracters behavior.
