[Bug 286247] New: No feedback when an IMAP server is unreachable

2011-11-10 Thread Will Stephenson
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=286247

Summary: No feedback when an IMAP server is unreachable
   Product: kmail2
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Unlisted Binaries
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: UI
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: wstephen...@kde.org

Online IMAP resource.

When the server is unreachable, KMail only shows the 'retrieving folder
contents' widget forever, without reporting a failure to connect.

This will be mistaken by the average user for Akonadi weirdness.

Expected behaviour:
Display a status message.
Hide the folder tree for the unreachable server.

not sure it's worth reintroducing something that isn't part of the plasma
systray API and is only useful for ubuntu (a quick search shows that neither
Debian, Opensuse or Fedora have libindicate-qt).

I d very much prefer Peters patch with not being able to see the BCC recipients
in the sent folder than showing it to everyone.

[Bug 259949] Kmail does not use all addressbooks for autocompletion

2011-11-10 Thread postdoc38
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=259949

--- Comment #39 from postdoc38 yahoo fr 2011-11-10 13:58:06 ---
In my experience, autocompletion is a totally unreliable feature so far.
Sometimes it works, sometime not. It might be my fault as I update kde
regularly (once a week or more), waiting for other long standing bugs to be
resolved.

However, autocompletion has always worked for *some* time after wiping all
akonadi/nepomuk stuff (see commands below) then redefining all akonadi
resources (addressbooks, IMAP resources and the like).

Beware that you will need to reenter all your credentials for all your email
accounts, aso. A major pain in the a.. just to get autocompletion working until
...

wiping commands:

rm -rf `find ~/.kde4 -name *ako*`
rm -rf `find ~/.kde4 -name *nepo*`

then do the same for ~/.kde, ~/.local and ~/.config

I testet with a new profile on KDE 4.7.4:

I cleared out /etc/skel and logged in as a newly created user. The first thing
I did was configuring kmail and created templates just with test in it.
Same thing it does not work with new message.

I can confirm the bug. If you want a tarball of the offending .config/akonadi
please email me as I don't know what data exactly is in the database. I'm
running Kubuntu 11.10 and my X freezes completely. I had to switch to the
console in time to see what's happening.

[Bug 286304] New: wish: 'delete message' action

2011-11-10 Thread Christophe Giboudeaux
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=286304

   Summary: wish: 'delete message' action
   Product: kmail2
   Version: Git (master)
  Platform: Unlisted Binaries
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: filtering
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: cgiboude...@gmx.com

Currently, there is no user action to delete a message.

Useful case:
- When manually marking a message as spam, it could be useful to delete the
message directly instead of moving it to a trash folder.
