[kontact] [Bug 317860] Kontact Crashed after attempting to add a large file as an attachment

kontact (4.14.10) on KDE Platform 4.14.16 using Qt 4.8.6

- What I was doing when the application crashed:
I aimed for a PNG in the file dialog, but hit a 5 GiB VirtualBox image instead.
:o) I only though “oops” and two seconds later KMail crashed.

[Akonadi] [Bug 362699] Back end MySQL table PimItemTable shows entries with remoteID = NULL

2016-05-27 Thread Christoph Pospiech via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=362699

In an earlier command it was written that "It means that the item has been
created in Akonadi and is waiting for the owning resource to store it in the
remote storage". I just observed something that potentially points to a
different direction. I had a couple of NULL entries today, not related to the
trash scenario as described in my previous comment. Apparently, these entries
were pointing to an non-existent entry in ~/.local/share/akonadi/file_db_data.
But they also had a foreign key pointing to a collection. For one of those
collections there happened to be only one mail that I touched/moved into this
collection. I checked in Kmail - and the mail was still there. Means - there is
another entry in the PimItemtable for this mail, and the entry with remoteID =
NULL appears to be really obsolete - a stale duplicate so to speak. My other
(more general) observation is that these entries don't go away, even if the
connection to the IMAP servers is re-established. I did similar checks for the
other mails. - And then decided to eliminate the stale entries via "DELETE FROM
`pimitemtable` WHERE `remoteId` IS NULL;" - knowing that there are delete
cascades into the other tables. Would that be the general solution ?

Works for me now with KAddressBook 5.2.1.

Looks like fixing https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=356995 also solved this
one.

Sudhir, I have no idea what Zoho displays there. I only know zoho.com as a
source for spam that reaches my mailbox so far. I suggest you talk back with
Zoho support on this one. Let us know is KDEPIM/Akonadi 15.12 or even better
16.04 resolves the issue for you.

[kmail2] [Bug 316107] big regression: kmail IMAP connection and message display problems

2016-05-27 Thread Sudhir Khanger via KDE Bugzilla

Hi Martin,

I will have to wait 2 more months to get the upstream supported KDEPIM+Akonadi
(15.12+) version. I will report back if I have any issues with them.

I am curious if you could shed some light on it. Zoho tells me KMail is making
more than 20 simultaneous connections to their server. I am watching the imap
traffic using the command you provided `watch -n1 "netstat -tanp | grep imap`.
I only see the following 4 lines. That's the maximum I have seen

tcp0 0 192.168.1.33:45940 155.97.137.30:993 ESTABLISHED
2117/akonadi_imap_r
tcp0 0 192.168.1.33:38574 165.254.168.191:993 ESTABLISHED
2114/akonadi_imap_r
tcp0 0 192.168.1.33:44000 155.97.137.30:993 ESTABLISHED
2117/akonadi_imap_r
tcp0 69 192.168.1.33:40884 165.254.168.191:993 ESTABLISHED
2114/akonadi_imap_r

Looking up these IP addresses I see two of these are from a working email
server. No problem there. The rest two are connecting to Zoho servers. I don't
see 20 entries. Will I see 20 entries if KMail were making 20 simultaneous
connections?

Hi,
I don't know if it is correct to add discussion to such an old thread, but I
have found nothing else regarding the problem I am having.

Laos I think my input may change your mind regarding the usefulness of having
an "imap path prefix" configuration option.

The point is that if you want to access any recent Exchange server from Linux
you are very limited in options: either your administrators allow IMAP access
to your mailbox (which most Exchange administrators won't allow) or you use
DavMail.
DavMail is a very good option and can be used with just about any MUA.

BUT the situation changes greatly if you want to access a shared mailbox (which
is a very common feature in enterprise accounts). This is a very common need,
based on the number of requests one can find on the DavMail support forums.

Since both the server and the login/password is the same as your primary
mailbox, there's no other way to access a shared mailbox than changing the IMAP
path prefix.

This can easily be done with e.g. Thunderbird, but if one prefers KMail there's
absolutely NO WAY to get this done.

I am using KMail 5.1.3.

Thank you for reading.

[kmail2] [Bug 363586] New: Kmail2 handles mailto: incorrectly. urlencoded does not work

2016-05-27 Thread eduard via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=363586

Bug ID: 363586
Summary: Kmail2 handles mailto: incorrectly. urlencoded does
not work
   Product: kmail2
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Kubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: commands and actions
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: edua...@bredax.com

I used to create emails with attached files using mailto: and kmail, but latter
versions did stop working properly.

The standard way to work is to urlencode the mailto link so kmail decodes it
and creates the message.
Now kmail2 does not accept the urlencoded link. TO, CC fields get mixed up. And
if you send the code urldecoded then line breaks are not printed correctly.

Example:

What should work
mailto:SOMEONE%20%3Csomeonesmail%40email.com%3E?cc=someotherm...@othermail.com,YETANOTHER20%3Cyetanothermail%40yetanothermail.com%3Esubject=a%20subject%20here%202016body=Dear%20Al%C3%ADcia%2C%0A%0ABlahAdjuntem%20factura%20n%C3%BAm%203043%20de%20Bredax.%0A%0ASalutacions%2C%0Aattachment=/somefile.pdf;
link should work and
/>Urlencoded Correct email
mailto:SOMEONE
?cc=someotherm...@othermail.com,YETANOTHERsubject=a
subject here 2016body=Dear Alícia,
BlahAdjuntem factura núm 3043 de Bredax.

Salutacions,
attachment=/somefile.pdf"
/>Urldecoded incorrect mail

The second one is the one that kind of works, yet line breaks are not
interpreted correctly.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Test the links I send you
2. You'll see the first does not compose correcly and the second do not have
line breaks.

Actual Results:
2. You'll see the first does not compose correcly and the second do not have
line breaks.

Expected Results:
The first link should generate correct email with TO, 2 CC fields, body
attachment and properly formated body.

I am using firefox from last Ubuntu 16.04

I want to send a PGP signed email with attachments. Every attachments in
attachments list has the tick "sign". However I get the message:

> Some parts of this message will not be signed.
> Sending only partially signed messages might violate site policy.
> Sign all parts instead?

I think this message is wrong as I selected to sign every attachments. When I
select "Send as it is" it seems to sign everything anyway.
