[kmail2] [Bug 313697] kmail is screwing up new emails

2016-09-26 Thread via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=313697

--- Comment #8 from w...@obsidian-studios.com ---
I have not experienced this in some time, or I would have commented on the bug.
I think it might have to do with filling or full disks/partitions. Where there
is enough for a record to exist about the email in a database, but not to store
the email on disk. Otherwise I have no idea how to replicate and have not
experienced in some time.

[kmail2] [Bug 313702] Lost all emails in a folder

2016-09-26 Thread via KDE Bugzilla

This is still occurring, not sure about with my current version 4.14.20, but
few months back I did lose my entire inbox. I had some emails in there for
months. The inbox/folder did not have that many emails, ~20-30 max. I can get
the exact date and I think version from irc and install logs.

[kmail2] [Bug 369395] New: Deleting the last message in a folder does not unselect it

2016-09-26 Thread Tristan Miller via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=369395

Bug ID: 369395
Summary: Deleting the last message in a folder does not
unselect it
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 5.1.3
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: message list
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: psychon...@nothingisreal.com

If you delete the last remaining message in a folder, KMail still thinks the
message is selected. It is still displayed in the preview pane, and it is
still possible to invoke commands on it such as "Reply", "Forward", "View
source", etc.

I can reproduce this with both Maildir and IMAP folders. I haven't tried with
other kinds of folders.

Possibly related: Bug 279436.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Select a folder that contains a single message.
2. Select the message.
3. Press Delete.

Actual Results:
4. The message still appears in the preview pane. It is still possible to
invoke commands on it such as "Reply", "Forward", etc.

Expected Results:
4. The message should disappear from the preview pane. Commands such as
"Reply" and "Forward" should be disabled.

[kmail2] [Bug 369392] New: Custom date display for message list not applied until restart

2016-09-26 Thread Tristan Miller via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=369392

Bug ID: 369392
Summary: Custom date display for message list not applied until
restart
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 5.1.3
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: message list
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: psychon...@nothingisreal.com

In the KMail settings dialog (Settings -> Configure KMail -> Appearance ->
Message List -> Date Display), the user can configure how they want the date to
be formatted in the message list. There is a radio button group allowing the
user to select among several predefined formats or a custom format.

Selecting any of the predefined formats and pressing the "Apply" button results
in the message list being immediately reformatted with the new date format.
However, if the user selects a custom format, the "Apply" button has no
immediate effect. Instead, the user must restart KMail for the changes to take
effect.

Please make the "Apply" button work correctly even if the user selects a custom
date format. If this is not possible, then pressing "Apply" or "OK" should
throw up a dialog window explaining that changes will take effect only after
KMail is restarted.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Settings -> Configure KMail -> Appearance -> Message List -> Date Display
2. Enter a valid format string in the "Custom format" field.
3. Select the radio button next to the "Custom format" field.
4. Press "Apply".

Actual Results:
5. Nothing happens.

Expected Results:
5. The Message List should refresh, with the dates using the new custom format.

There are hidden recipients, yes. That might explain the issue…

Sorry for being so slow to answer - and thank you for persisting!

A possibility to improve this might be to first try the key for the email
address with which I received the email.

I cannot currently test this with a kmail based on kde5, because akonadi
currently does not work at all for me (fails to start and the error logs says
that all old accounts are missing).

[kmail2] [Bug 336205] kmail2 crashes after startup and all windows was opened

2016-09-26 Thread Denis Kurz via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=336205

Ulf, maybe we're talking about different windows. As soon as KMail crashes
(i.e., the application closes unexpectedly), you should get a popup window,
which belongs to the application DrKonqi. I'm not entirely sure at the moment
if it says "DrKonqi" somewhere, but it offers you to help you report the
problem. Alternatively, if your installation is recent enough, you get a
notification in the lower right part of the screen, telling you that KMail
crashed. In this case, there's probably a new icon in your systray that you
need to click to open the DrKonqi popup I mentioned before.

In *this* DrKonqi popup, there should be the Entwicklerinformationen tab.

Unfortunately, I don't know about openSUSE. I read somewhere that it's not
developer packages that you need (which, I assume, end with "-dev"), but
instead packages that end with "-debuginfo". Maybe a search in zypper for
kdepim-debuginfo, kmail2-debuginfo or something like that comes up with
something useful.

Now that's a good question. I hoped that everyone would respect my comment and
not confirm any of the 2600 bugs I changed on Saturday for 4.14, but I should
have known better.

I'm afraid there's only one thing I can tell you 4.14 people: We simply lack
the manpower to look into 4.14 bugs. I don't think that any KDE PIM developer
will ever again find time and motivation to look into bugs that have never been
confirmed for a Qt5/Frameworks based version. Sorry for the bad news.

Actually, it doesn't make much of a difference, since I can bulk-edit all those
bugs in December that have not been confirmed. since other potential afflicted
users will never find this report anyway, there's no point in keeping it open.

I'm still seeing something like this in 5.1.3.

Sometimes I'll see a message in my inbox that should have been filtered to
another folder. The unread count for the target folder is 0. If I open the
target folder, the unread count is set to 1, and the same message as in my
inbox is present. I then go back to my inbox and manually filter the message
(Ctrl+J). Now there are two copies of the message in the target folder.

This is a feature of gpg and than gpg has to test every private key ( in worst

decrypts the email. If gpg can see the keyIds it should only ask for these keys
to enter the passphrase.

[kmail2] [Bug 369376] New: Show date in message view part

2016-09-26 Thread Olivier Churlaud via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=369376

Bug ID: 369376
Summary: Show date in message view part
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 5.3.1
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: oliv...@churlaud.com

Currently the message view shows only:

Subject of the Email
>From : ...@example.com
To : ...@example.com
CC : ...@example.com

I would like to have the date as well, for example on the right of the last
line (in this case CC) or top right.

Otherwise I need to read in very small the date in the list, which is not
visible if you double click on the message to show it in its own window.

Thx
Olivier

Reproducible: Always
