https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=369392 Bug ID: 369392 Summary: Custom date display for message list not applied until restart Product: kmail2 Version: 5.1.3 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: message list Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org Reporter: psychon...@nothingisreal.com In the KMail settings dialog (Settings -> Configure KMail -> Appearance -> Message List -> Date Display), the user can configure how they want the date to be formatted in the message list. There is a radio button group allowing the user to select among several predefined formats or a custom format. Selecting any of the predefined formats and pressing the "Apply" button results in the message list being immediately reformatted with the new date format. However, if the user selects a custom format, the "Apply" button has no immediate effect. Instead, the user must restart KMail for the changes to take effect. Please make the "Apply" button work correctly even if the user selects a custom date format. If this is not possible, then pressing "Apply" or "OK" should throw up a dialog window explaining that changes will take effect only after KMail is restarted. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Settings -> Configure KMail -> Appearance -> Message List -> Date Display 2. Enter a valid format string in the "Custom format" field. 3. [kmail2] [Bug 336205] kmail2 crashes after startup and all windows was opened
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=336205 --- Comment #10 from Denis Kurz--- Ulf, maybe we're talking about different windows. As soon as KMail crashes (i.e., the application closes unexpectedly), you should get a popup window, which belongs to the application DrKonqi. I'm not entirely sure at the moment if it says "DrKonqi" somewhere, but it offers you to help you report the problem. Alternatively, if your installation is recent enough, you get a notification in the lower right part of the screen, telling you that KMail crashed. In this case, there's probably a new icon in your systray that you need to click to open the DrKonqi popup I mentioned before.
