Just an update on what I found so far:

Turns out it's a race condition between KMail and KMail :-) Specifically there
seem to be two SpecialCollectionsRequestJobs started in quick succession from
two different places in KMail and both attempt to create the "inbox" folder.

It's rather hard to debug where the SCRJs are started from because gdb slows
down kmail enough to make the race condition go away. Setting a bp on
CollectionCreateJob does not hide the race condition, but also does not provide
any useful information.

I guess the best course of action is to add some debug info into SCRJ and
compile AkonadiCore in the VM where I can reproduce the condition...

The current class hierarchy has nothing to do with representation of a specific
"mime"-type. And in this hierarchy AttachmentPart is a subclass of TextPart,
because AttachmentPart has every property of a TextPart.
That's why isTextPart is true for every attachment.

Thanks for your reply. You say "let it crash" afterwards do "(gdb) thread apply
all bt full" ?
The problem is the bug kills plasmashell, so issuing "(gdb) thread apply all bt
full" after crash yields nothing "The program is not being run."

Here's the gdb for /usr/bin/plasmashell, process 776
Continuing.

finally kills plasmashell
[Inferior 1 (process 776) exited with code 02]

Which other process should I examine? Which other commands might be helpful?
Sorry I am not a newbee but for this problem apparantly too unexperienced.

[knotes] [Bug 371706] New: Notes are not visible while dragging to move them

2016-10-26 Thread Rafael
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=371706

Bug ID: 371706
Summary: Notes are not visible while dragging to move them
   Product: knotes
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: rafael.linux.u...@gmail.com
CC: myr...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

When moving notes from KNotes, they are unusually invisible or "jumping" while
I drag them. They are not behaving like before. This is only happening with
Knotes windows, not with any other KDE window.

[kholidays] [Bug 371666] Plasma crashes irreversibly when enabling Holidays or scroling in Holidays' list

2016-10-26 Thread pitlochry
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=371666

Mmh, sorry I haven't yet debugged with Arch, Arch currently doesn't offer debug
packages with symbols? The KDE Crash Dialog does not show when plasmashell is
killed by the bug. I tried to retrieve a backtrace with gdb, but mmh...

sudo gdb --pid=808 #this is plasmashell --shut-up
(gdb) set logging file trace.log
(gdb) set logging on
(gdb) thread apply all bt full

See output 1 (perhaps not important).

(gdb) continue

See output 2 (note the comments I made).

No, this is with vanilla 16.08.2, no patches in messagelib or kdepim. It just
wasn't available from the drop-down versions list.
