[kdepim] [Bug 357302] Kmail: Send email as pdf from Libreoffice - existing file not found

--- Comment #5 from Kai Uwe Broulik ---
When I manually configure "kmail" as E-Mail client in Extras -> Settings ->
Internet -> Email it works, we might be facing a LibreOffice (xdg-open, even?)
bug here.

I'm still seeing the very same issue with KMail 5.3.0.
No matter what I choose in the "Send" menu of LibreOffice (e.g. via PDF, as MS
Excel) it always complains that the file
/tmp/lu4510r7o470.tmp/lu4510r7o47o.tmp/Something does not exist (note how
there's no file extension in the error message, the file is a .pdf or .xsl but
the error message doesn't have it which is probably the reason for this)

After I was hit by https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=373782 and could "fix"
that with the sql_mode change I also got 100% CPU for these agents on KDE neon
User Edition 5.8:

- Notes Agent
- Migration Agent
- Archive Mail Agent
- Mail Dispatcher Agent

Removing the corresponding
/home/user/.config/akonadi/agent_config_akonadi_*_agent_changes.dat files help
for me too. The 4x 100% CPU symptom is gone and mails are sent again.

[kmail2] [Bug 371826] Kmail new mail systray icon invisible unless hovered

2017-01-09 Thread Daniel Eklöf
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=371826

I just realized the icon I'm now isn't the regular kmail icon, but the "new
unread" (mail-unread-new.svg?)

Opening this one (regular, non-dark Breeze icon theme) makes it pretty obvious
why it isn't visible; it's dark.

Now, here's what I find weird:

a) The dark version of it is considerably brighter, and *should* be visible.
But isn't. Unless there's a bug in the cache handling of it.

b) as already mentioned, we do see it when it's hovered. Regardless of whether
the normal Breeze or the Dark icon theme is used.

I have no idea how it's supposed to work, or who's responsible for providing
the hovered vs. non-hovered icon. But it seems something is wrong with how the
non-hovered icon is rendered.

[kmail2] [Bug 374827] New: Thin CJK text in message viewer when using Noto Sans CJK fonts

2017-01-09 Thread Guo Yunhe
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=374827

Bug ID: 374827
Summary: Thin CJK text in message viewer when using Noto Sans
CJK fonts
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 5.4.0
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR
 Component: UI
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: guoyunhebr...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 103310
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=103310=edit
Screenshot of message viewer

In openSUSE Tumbleweed, Noto Sans CJK SC is the default Simple Chinese font. It
is special because it provide extra thin fonts. When KMail renders the message,
Chinese text will be rendered with thin fonts, but Latin text will use regular
fonts.

This only affect the message viewer, not other UI. For example, message list
use regular fonts, not thin fonts. Also, it won't affect Latin text, which use
Noto Sans fonts providing thin fonts, too.

Not sure if this is the problem of HTML render engine or Noto Sans CJK fonts.

[kmail2] [Bug 371826] Kmail new mail systray icon invisible unless hovered

2017-01-09 Thread Daniel Eklöf
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=371826

Konversation works (icon is visible in systray).

Plasma-framework version is 5.29.0.

Breeze-icons (which contains /usr/share/icons/breeze/apps/48/kmail.svg, which I
assume is the icon being loaded?) version is 5.29.0.

And, to clarify; my overall "look and feel" theme is Breeze. However, I've
changed the "Desktop Theme" to Breeze Dark.

Changing the icon theme to Breeze Dark makes no difference.

If I change the Desktop Theme to Breeze (regular, non Dark), I can see the
kmail icon again. Switch back to Breeze Dark and it disappears again.

I re-read the request, and you are of course right. I'm sorry, I didn't even
realize that this is a feature request.

"Bestatigung" does not turn up results and I couldn't find corresponding
options in the preferences, so this request is still valid as of 5.4.0. I also
appended "Option to" to the title of this request.

does the same machine also has wrong colors for other kstatusnotifier based
icons?
one example is konversation.
if konversatio has a white icon while kmail a black one, then is the icon svg
to be broken
in
https://cgit.kde.org/kmail.git/tree/src/kmsystemtray.cpp#n71

i see that an icon called "kmail" is looked for.

the systray takes it from the plasma theme, and that is a correct svg, and
colors correctly, at least in master

what version of plasma-framework is used?

I can't see Outlook invitations in KMail 5.2.3, using
KDE Frameworks 5.28.0 and Qt 5.6.1

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=326884

As explained in the 2nd paragraph of the initial report, the bug was already
fixed in 4.11.2 and the purpose of the report was to document a workaround for
other people running into this bug with older versions.

I can confirm that the bug is also not present in KMail5 16.08.

[Akonadi] [Bug 297615] Akonadi asks for wallet password even though no kmail2 has not been started

2017-01-09 Thread Joachim Wagner
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=297615

The unexpected behaviour is still present in KMail5 (tested with version 16.08
of current OpenSUSE Leap 42.2). However, reading comment #5 and observing that
"New Email Notify" boxes pop up even if kmail/kontact has not been started yet
in the current KDE session, this seems to be a feature, not a bug.

Workaround: Store all e-mail passwords in a single KDE wallet. To avoid even
the first password pop-up, set an empty password for the wallet. (Note,
however, that the latter increases the risks to your passwords: malware
stealing your files containing the wallet, you accidentally publishing your
files, leaving the unlocked laptop unattended etc.)

I really clicked on "Turn Off Debug" which turned off all applications. So also
debug output for applications not listed as KMail or Akonadi are turned off.

Laurent, thank you. I installed kdebugsettings 16.08.3-1 debian package,
disabled all debug, logged out of the session, made sure all processes of the
user are gone, logged in to the session, checked whether kdebugsettings still
shows off for all the applications and then start kmail.

And I still get these – thus reopening:

When there is no mail displayed in the message view, e.g., one of akonadi's
i-m-not-serving-any-requests-periods, then the focus won't leave the search
field.
