Right now, when pasting a regular url into akregator, akregator can find the
related feed if the header contains something along the lines of this:

However, because syndication, which is how akregator offers this feature, uses
a regexp to parse this value, the following is not found:

Because the href and ref are not in the order the regexp looks for them.

It does this at loader.cpp 149

use native KDE/Qt app if it functioned properly

Looking at src/kmailtransport/plugins/smtp/smtpjob.cpp it seems the password
from the password dialog is only set to the transport but not to the login job
(see line 290). Probably because of the XOAUTH2 handling in line 286.

Unfortunately, on Debian (testing), is available only this (5.7.3) version. I
could try with a live (and more updates) distro but I need free time to test
it...

If you are using the last version, could you verify if the behavior with the
attached HTML files is the same?

Thanks...

I've found a solution. I changed the "Allow less secure apps: ON" to OFF on my
Google settings for webmail and that removed Akonadi from the permitted apps
but that didn't do anything to fix it though so this might not need to be done.
I then went through the kmail settings for "Receiving" emails on the google
account, on that page is said Authentication is "Gmail" - i changed this
setting to "PLAIN" and now it all works.
I've not had the Akonadi/Google dialog again as yet to reestablish
"permissions" to read/send emails via google.

2018-08-30 Thread Jan Hambrecht
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=398036

Yes it is probably sensible to disable the lineedit in the settings dialog if
the store password option is unchecked.

In any case if kmail asks the user for a password via the password prompt
popping up before sending, it should be used for authentication on the mail
server. Otherwise there is no point asking the user for a password, isn't it?
This used to work in older versions and just stopped working in the last kmail
version.

Mine was already set to "Allow less secure apps: ON", I'll try removing the
access and recreating it and see what happens

I can confirm this bug.
I'm using KDE neon

Just an additional info:
using the described workaround on "INBOX" the external resources are loaded.
Re-enabling the checkbox, the external resources continue to be enabled.
Different behavior in subfolders, where resources are loaded only with
workaround applied

2018-08-30 Thread gianogli
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=398054

Bug ID: 398054
Summary: Attached HTML files are managed as "body part"
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 5.7.3
  Platform: Debian testing
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: giano...@tiscali.it
  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 114694
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=114694=edit
Issue with a not too big HTML file

When I receive an e-mail with a big (> 4MB) HTML file attached, kmail take a
long time to show the preview of the message (in HTML format) because it
wrongly manage the attached file as a "body part".

With this kind of e-mail if I try to click on the "HTML side bar" to switch to
the "plain massage" format it doesn't works and remain in the "html message"
format.

I think that the problem is due to the way that kmail manages the HTML files
attached to an e-mail: kmail considers this files as a body part of the e-mail
and it tries to preview them instead of show only the file name at the end of
the body text (as it happens, in instance for a zip file).

There is a way to consider an HTML attached file as a normal file and then
disable its preview?
If not, could you change this behavior?

If I click on an e-mail with a very big HTML attachment kmail became
unresponsive for a long period: for this reason I set the severity of this bug
to "major".

Thanks...

Perhaps I need to disable password lineedit when we don't store password.
IT's more logical as it's never stored no ?
