[kmail2] [Bug 403007] KMail crashes by selecting freshly arrived unread mails

2019-01-30 Thread Christoph Feck
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=403007

KMail uses the Chromium web engine (via QtWebEngine) to display mails. This web
engine internally uses OpenGL from multiple threads, which the Nouveau OpenGL
driver fails to handle.

Other KDE applications do not use QtWebEngine.

Created attachment 117734
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=117734=edit
useful debug info - akonadi maildir crash, segmentation fault.

I installed the debug symbols so that hopefully the information in this
attached file is useful.

[kmail2] [Bug 403770] New: unified mailbox (folder) not update sometimes

2019-01-30 Thread CnZhx
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=403770

Bug ID: 403770
Summary: unified mailbox (folder) not update sometimes
   Product: kmail2
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: folders
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: z...@cnzhx.net
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Unified mailbox (or folder) is amazing feature introduced recently. But
sometimes the unified mailboxes do not update according to incoming new
messages or deleting messages. However, the unified folders could update
themselves after running ```akonadictl fsck && akonadictl restart```.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Start Kontact and configure a unified folder to include several inboxes.
2. Restart the machine and start Kontact to make sure the settings are
effective.
3. Wait for new message incoming, or delete some old messages in the list of
the unified folder.

OBSERVED RESULT
The new message appears in the (old fashion) inbox but not in the unified
folder, or the deleted messages do not disappear from the unified folder.

EXPECTED RESULT
New message appears in the unified folder as soon as it appears in the inbox;
the delete messages disappear from the unified folder as soon as they are moved
to the Wastebin from the list of messages in the unified mailbox.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows:
MacOS:
Linux/KDE Plasma: openSUSE Tumbleweed Snapshot 20190126
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.14.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.54.0
Qt Version: 5.12.0
Mail Version: 5.10.1

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
It shows no obvious pattern of working smoothly or not. If I observe the list
is not updated after a short while, I run ```akonadictl fsck && akonadictl
restart``` to make it updated.

Hi

The last comment fron Christoph Feck is rather strange. All applicationons rar
running fine, just not KMail. This makes it rather difficult to search the
error in the driver.
I do not understand this comment.
good luck

Good catch Laurent !

Damn so evident that I can't see it. Perhaps a line in documentation and help
to tell that any script will work, but have to have a shebang line.

So this one was an easy fix.

it seems that it needs to add #!/bin/sh at top of script.
It works for me (as for other script).

(I fixed a bug when I tried to reproduce your bug :) )

Yes, I created those lists by using the addressbook. I did not use the feature
by creating distribution lists from kmail directly.

Thank's for letting me know.

On my system I was able to create those two groups without any comments from
the system / software. That's why the email I sent out was delivered to the
