[kmail2] [Bug 446949] New: kmail cannot access gmail account

2021-12-13 Thread Nick
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=446949

Bug ID: 446949
   Summary: kmail cannot access gmail account
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 5.19.0
  Platform: Neon Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: nick.craig@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
***
I've been running kmail and accessing my gmail account for years, however after
a recent update a few days ago I get the following message "Unable to login to
the server "pop.gmail.com".
Could not login to pop.gmail.com.
The server terminated the connection immediately. "

I've tried generating a new app password, multiple times, checked all the
server info, still can't receive emails. However here's the odd thing. I can
send emails via the gmail account.

This all started happening after the recent KDE neon upgrade to 5.23.4. My
gmail password is stored in my KDEwallet which I can login to and see the
passwords. Re-entering the password manually still doesn't work.

***

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
Use an existing gmail account that's already setup in kmail2 and try to receive
email. Gmail server disconnects immediately.

OBSERVED RESULT
Cannot receive gmail emails but can send via gmail smtp.

EXPECTED RESULT

[kmail2] [Bug 446837] Add recursive option to "Hide this folder in the folder selection dialog"

2021-12-13 Thread David de Cos
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=446837

--- Comment #6 from David de Cos ---
That's great, Laurent! Thank you very much for the fast response.

I just noticed something curious, a very minor bug:
1) Use the plugin to mark some folders as hidden in the folder selection
dialog.
2) Accept and close KMail right away, without clicking on any folder.
3) Restart KMail and right-click on one of the folders that you just configured
via the plugin.
4) The "Folder Properties" option is not there.

If you click on any other folder, the menu entry comes back again (so as I
said, it's a very minor bug). Did you notice that too? If you want, I can
create a new bug report for that.

the dovecot server runs on OpenBSD 7.0 and get its mail fed by means of
fetchmail
The mails on the server are only present once while kmail2 keeps presenting
them as newly arrived mail ad infinitum.
This happened after an update of Debian/Sid/Bookworm which updated glibc and
libc
Don't know if this has something to do with it.

Thanks for all your work!

[kmail2] [Bug 446837] Add recursive option to "Hide this folder in the folder selection dialog"

2021-12-13 Thread David de Cos
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=446837

--- Comment #2 from David de Cos ---
Thank you very much for the info, Laurent. I didn't know this plugin, this
should certainly speed the process.

However, I don't think it's working well for me. I select a few folders at once
-> Mark "Hide this folder in the folder selection dialog" -> Accept -> Restart
KMail -> Check the properties of those folders (not via the plugin, but right
click -> Folder properties), and the option is unmarked. I've done a few
attempts, and sometimes only 1 of the folders has the option marked, but all
the others don't.

Can you please check if it works for you? Maybe I'm doing something wrong?

Thanks a lot!

[kmail2] [Bug 446919] html body style bleeds into mail header

2021-12-13 Thread Christian Spanier
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=446919

--- Comment #1 from Christian Spanier  ---
Might be related to 441829 and 429393, but they overlap other HTML elements on
top of the header.
This bug is specifically about CSS body styles that bleed into the header.

render bug of email header information

SUMMARY
I noticed that some specific (spam) mails mess up the mail header (containing
from, to, and date information, see screenshot). So I created a reproducible
test case that illustrates the issue. It is the

that breaks rendering.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Send custom HTML mail using msmtp (or similar):
```bash
cat << EOF | mail -M "text/html" -s "Test" YOUR@MAIL.ADDRESS
http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd;>
Test
EOF
```
2. check your mails

EXPECTED RESULT
