[kmail2] [Bug 386238] Kmail crashes on start
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=386238 --- Comment #2 from Ferry <ft...@telfort.nl> --- OK I managed to work around this in the following way: - I went into ~ferry/.local/share/kmail2/autosave - removed the file there Started kmail, problem gone. May I suggest that if kmail is repeatedly trying to recover an open e-mail that it should give up on that and clear the autosave folder? Unfortunately I really deleted the file, so we can't use it here now to reproduce the problem. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

After update to Kubuntu 15.10 (Kontact 5.02) at a certain point my address book cache got cleared and shows 0 contacts (out of > 1200). Re-adding the resource shows I can retrieve my collections (1 local, 1 shared), but still when syncing it stalls at about 30%, then after a long wait completes, but shows 0 contacts. Tried putting the resource offline/online, restarting it etc. Not sure if this might be caused by some kind of time out due to the large amount of contacts. I can probably provide a similar debugger log using the akonadi console, let me know if/how I can help. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs

I mean 1000's of e-mail and 20GB or so of storage. Now, when I'm on the road or working from home I don't want to sync the whole archive to my local machine. So, I go to the properties of the imap folder, select the retrieve tab, then select 'download the contents of messages at request' and then 'keep local for 5 minutes'. After 5 minutes Kontact starts clearing my local cache. However, whenever I start my computer again and start Kontact, these settings have returned to default and Kontact starts downloading the whole archive again. This is driving me nuts. There is also an option 'use options from the above folder', but since there is no folder above the imap folder level, I don't know how to change those settings (to turn the default to just downloading the headers).
