[kmail2] [Bug 391517] New: Plain text link generation triggers scam detection

2018-03-07 Thread Kai Uwe Broulik
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=391517

Bug ID: 391517
Summary: Plain text link generation triggers scam detection
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 5.7.2
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: k...@privat.broulik.de
  Target Milestone: ---

When you receive a plain text email with a http URL in it, it is turned into a
clickable link. The href of that link is lowercase so it will trigger the scam
detection because of URL title vs href mismatch.

Send a plain text email with content "test http://gOogle.com; (note the
uppercase O), opened it and got "This message may be scam" with details of "
This email contains a link which reads as 'http://gOogle.com' in the text, but
actually points to 'http://google.com/'. This is often the case in scam emails
to mislead the recipient"

newest
   Product: kmail2
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: folders
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org

  Target Milestone: ---

I have configured KMail to show the newest mail when I enter a folder. In my
folder, for some reason, at the bottom I have an email with "Unknown" date.
This one is then always selected when I enter the folder, despite being at the
bottom of the list. If I configure it to show the oldest mail, it uses the last
one before the "Unknown" one.

No matter what I choose in the "Send" menu of LibreOffice (e.g. via PDF, as MS
Excel) it always complains that the file
/tmp/lu4510r7o470.tmp/lu4510r7o47o.tmp/Something does not exist (note how
there's no file extension in the error message, the file is a .pdf or .xsl but
the error message doesn't have it which is probably the reason for this)

2015-04-01 Thread Kai Uwe Broulik
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=345749

Bug ID: 345749
Summary: Delete key assigned to both Move to Trash and
Delete Mail
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 4.14.4
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: k...@privat.broulik.de

On a fresh install of KMail 4.14 when pressing the Delete key on my keyboard to
trash an email I get an ambiguous shortcut warning and no action is taken. In
the shortcuts dialog I noticed that both Move Email to Trash and Delete
Email are mapped to the Delete key at the same time.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Select an Email
2. Press Delete
3.

Actual Results:
A dialog telling me that the shortcut is ambiguous and no action will be taken
place

Expected Results:
The email is moved to the trash

By default Delete should just trash, Ctrl+Delete really delete, like in a file
manager.

I have a search folder that lists all mails marked as important and have it
in my favorite folders list at the top.
I cannot change the icon to eg. red exclamation mark but am stuck with the
generic search icon

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Choose Edit → Search for E-Mail
2. Enter query
3. Right click the newly created folder inside Search
Actual Results:
There is no folder properties entry and thus you cannot change the icon

Thanks for your quick reply!

It seems those folders are not live updated but just contain the mails that
were in the index when the folder was created, making it useless as all
important mails folder. Is that correct? (Would create a new wish for this
then) Or is there another way (tag folders or so?) to achieve the usecase
mentioned in my first post?

When editing/adding a filter rule, the tab order for the input fields is weird.
I focus the Criteria field, enter eg. To, press tab, and the next focussed
field is the Plus button to add another rule. Make the tab order logical.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to Settings → Filters
2. Create new filter or choose existing one
3. Focus any of the criteria input boxes
4. Press tab button (several times)
Actual Results:
Tab order: Criteria → Plus icon of current row → Search term input → Operator
combobox → Next row criteria
and after the last row's operator combobox the focus moves to the Clear all
button of the filter action(!)

Sorry for the wait. This is the affected rule: It should match all e-mails from

see, it finds no match, although the mail contains such content.

OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED

 Component: general
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: k...@privat.broulik.de

In Filters you can configure it to look for a certain text inside the mail
content. This doesn't work, however. I have applied a filter that looks for a
string in the subject and a string in the content. The mail doesn't get
filtered. The filter log says:

[01:21:20] Filterregeln werden geprüft: (match all of the following) Subject
contains Review Request: body contains git.reviewboard.kde
[01:21:20] 0 = Subject contains Review Request: (Re: Review Request

And as you can see, the rule is somewhat broken as the body part is not
checked, probably because it has braces around.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Set up a filter that has a Mail content rule
2.
3.
Actual Results:
Filter always fails

Expected Results:
Filter filters properly

I have several POP3 accounts in my KMail2 and those are set to Keep E-Mails on
the server because I also want to receive my mail from the smartphone, pc etc
(dunno if Hotmail supports IMAP though).
At some random time, I could not yet reproduce it, I get a messages by Akonadi
saying Local Folder: Message $someid.R437.kaiuwe-tragbar could not be
moved. (I have automatic filtering enabled) and if such a message appeared,
the trouble begins; with no way of solving it except of patiently waiting ( 50
MB and I only got a surfstick with limited quota!) and afterwards deleting all
the unread e-mails (and since there is also no way of only searching for
Unread Mails that have been sent yesterday or earlier, this is quite a pain …)

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
I have absolutely no idea to reliably reproduce this. But the option to leave
the Mails on the server is crucial.

Expected Results:
It just downloads the mails once and that’s it!

not know the english menu label), I can add yet another indicator, so I get
three. If I remove the mark, I still have one left which is “Message Tag ‚zu

2011-09-07 Thread Kai Uwe Broulik
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=281579

Summary: New E-Mails are never marked as unread
   Product: kmail2
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: k...@privat.broulik.de

Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.7.0)
OS:Linux

Whenever I get a new E-Mail, they are not marked as unread at all. Since
filtering of E-Mails miracuously works, they are sorted in their respective
folder but you never know if there are any new mails there. (Also, the New
mail notification was disabled by default)

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Send yourself an E-Mail or get an E-Mail by somebody else

Actual Results:
The mails appear in inbox when Akonadi was looking for mail but they are not
marked as unread

Expected Results:
The new mails must be marked as unread.

[Bug 281580] New: Make Akonadi error dialogs PASSIVE

2011-09-07 Thread Kai Uwe Broulik
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=281580

Summary: Make Akonadi error dialogs PASSIVE
   Product: kmail2
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org

Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.7.0)
OS:Linux

I don’t know who thought it was a good idea to have error messages that are
triggered by background services are (modal) message boxes.
Whenever there is an error with something and even if it is just a temporary
thing, you will get a message box. Luckily we have KWin’s focus stealing
prevention.
Make *all* those nasty warning, error, whatever dialogs passive notifications
that appear in systray and that you can deal with or leave them.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Do something that triggers an error, for example turn off network and fetch
e-mails or enter a wrong password

Actual Results:
An annoying message box appears stating that something went wrong

Expected Results:
A passive popup notification appears stating that something went wrong but that
does not force you to deal with it (by closing it or whatever)
