[Akonadi] [Bug 363741] akonadi server 16.08.1: crashing every few seconds

--- Comment #30 from Sandro Knauß  ---
I used xapian 1.2, but xapian-check emailContacts also fails with the same
error. For all other xapian collections, this don't fail (calendars/
collections/ contacts/ email/ notes/). But xapian also shows an warning for
this collection. And it consumes all free RAm, so it may fail, because it just
consume too much RAM? see

Cross-checking document lengths between the postlist and termlist tables would
use more than 1GB of memory, so skipping that check

--- Comment #7 from Sandro Knauß  ---
Please - still awnser my question: Are the recipients are hidden in the mail?
This is a feature of gpg and than gpg has to test every private key ( in worst
case scenario), because I can be that only the last key is the one that
decrypts the email. If gpg can see the keyIds it should only ask for these keys
to enter the passphrase.

@craig: I cant reproduce this problem with korganizer (5.2.2) as sender of the

I see correctly the invitation inside kmail.
Keep in mind, that you need kdepim-addons installed for displaying the
invitations.
So please upload a wrongly displayed email, so that I am able to reproduce the
issue.

Thanks for attaching the mail. For me it looks like it is is exactly the same

I have tested it with 5.2.1 and can confirm, that kmail doesn't detect it as
encrypted message. With git master kmail detects this correctly as encryptd
messsge and asks for the password to decrypt. So with KDE Application 16.08 the
problem is solved.

Is this only happens for singed mails? Because the signature verification can
really take a while and is much faster the second time.

Okay I now see the problem.

Applemail structues the mail differnently:

multipart/mixed
   -> application/pgp-encrypted
   -> application/octet-stream

normal MIME encrypted mails have a structure like this:

multipart/encrypted
   -> application/pgp-encrypted
   -> application/octet-stream

And mimetreeparser do not react only on the mimetype multipart/encrypted and
not at  application/pgp-encrypted.

Okay I now managed to create a fully working test. I use another way to fix
this. slotIdentityChange already sets the correct value for signature, but this
value is not honord later one. So I save the state after changing the identity.

https://phabricator.kde.org/D892
and cleanup around
https://phabricator.kde.org/D891

these are for master, not for 5.1.1. in 5.1.1 there is also the sticky Identity
handling, that makes the patch apply harder. But if you wan't to test on base
of 5.1.1 - feel free to ask...

Unfortunatelly the problem is not that easy to track down than I thought *sigh*
I created now a test to have a way to reproduce the issue with a automated
test, but there the autoSign value is taken correctly.

So there must be an additonal thing hapepen, that triggers your bug. Can you
please test:

in the setMessage function:
qDebug() << newMsg->head();

and additionally the question what command you are using
(kmail/kmcommands.cpp).

slotIdentityChanged(mId, true /*initalChange*/); should actually set everything
correctly. But maybe we have a wrong uoid and that's why everything is screwed
up.
This would be great.

[kmail2] [Bug 358116] messageviewer leaks temporary files with mail parts in it

2016-01-29 Thread Sandro Knauß via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=358116

--- Comment #6 from Sandro Knauß  ---
Well I can reproduce this behaviour with a simple testcase. This one fails:
QString path;
{
NodeHelper helper;
path = helper.createTempDir(QStringLiteral("foo"));
QVERIFY(QDir(path).exists());
}
QEventLoop loop;
QTimer::singleShot(0, , ::quit);
loop.exec();
QVERIFY(!QDir(path).exists());

if I change the singleShot to something like 11000 (11secs) if passes.

The problem here is that if the NodeHelper instance is deleted the tempfiles
are deleted also only 10secs after the application and not directly with the
deletion of NodeHelper. I see no need to wait 10secs when the object is already
deleted.

NodeHelper::~NodeHelper()
{
//Don't delete it it will delete in class with a deleteLater;
if (mAttachmentFilesDir) {
mAttachmentFilesDir->removeTempFiles();
mAttachmentFilesDir = 0;
}
}

void AttachmentTemporaryFilesDirs::removeTempFiles()
{
QTimer::singleShot(d->mDelayRemoveAll, this,
::slotRemoveTempFiles);
}

^^ d->mDelayRemoveAll is 10secs.

I've created a patch that should improve the situation:
https://phabricator.kde.org/D883

Still we have no handling, if the application crashes, but we now delete the
temp dirs directly, if the object is deleted. It would be great to test it in
the wild.

[Akonadi] [Bug 357179] Email remains in inbox after moving it to a folder

2016-01-22 Thread Sandro Knauß via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=357179

--- Comment #4 from Sandro Knauß  ---
I had now a gdb session with Daniel and we could found the base problem, that
gentBasePrivate::itemMoved is not triggerd in that specific case. The reason,
why it is not triggerd is that the if in ResourceBasePrivate::itemMoved l294:

  void itemMoved(const Akonadi::Item , const Akonadi::Collection ,
const Akonadi::Collection ) Q_DECL_OVERRIDE {
if (item.remoteId().isEmpty() || destination.remoteId().isEmpty() ||
destination == source)
{
changeProcessed();
return;
}
AgentBasePrivate::itemMoved(item, source, destination);
  }
in our case:
item.remoteId().isEmpty() = false
destination.remoteId().isEmpty() = true
(destination == source) = false

so we exit the job directy and do not forward the itemMoved to AgentBase so the
resource itself can't move the files at all.

As daniel discribe above, the dest collection do not have a local folder
representation and is only a "virtual" folder in akonadi. And because the
(maildir) resource don't get the notification at all, so it can't fix the
problem.

Git commit d3fcd2a4790cbe261181ddea29392178fb2e0dbb by Sandro Knauß.
Committed on 22/12/2015 at 00:44.
Pushed by knauss into branch 'master'.

Don't endup in a endless loop for inline signed messages

For inline signed messages the reference node is a null pointer
so we also need to set the memento for this null sign pointer, to
be able to refind the memento again.

This patch makes it impossible to have multiple inline signed messages blocks.
But one the other side it wasn't working before, too :)
