Incorrect, this specific issue is resolved. Please do not reopen for different

Hello folks,

We have now merged two MRs that remove the old broken Google Contacts
integration and add support for the People API. This means your Google contacts
should once again appear and be editable in PIM apps.

https://invent.kde.org/pim/libkgapi/-/merge_requests/22
https://invent.kde.org/pim/kdepim-runtime/-/merge_requests/98

These should be included in the next KDE Gear release. For those adventurous
enough to try builds of the master branches of PIM apps and frameworks, you can
use kdesrc-build to easily build your PIM app of choice, with the latest fixes
included (just make sure if you do this you run the kdesrc-build version of
Akonadi!)

Adding a new todo within a Google calendar has bugs regarding the due date.

When a new todo is created and it is set to have an all-day due date, when the
collection refreshes the date will be rolled back to the previous day.

If one tries to edit the due date for a task, the edit will be reverted once
the collection refreshes.

Can reproduce on both Kalendar and KOrganizer.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Create a new task within a Google Calendar
2. Assign a due date and save
3. Wait for the parent collection to refresh automatically or manually refresh
and see the dates get rolled back to the previous day

or...

1. Edit a task's due date and save the changes
2. See the dates revert to their previous due dates upon refresh

OBSERVED RESULT

Todos' due dates change on calendar refresh.

EXPECTED RESULT

Todos' due dates should remain the same as the user has set them.

This is still happening on two different machines that had already Firefox
7.0.1 installed (and working fine) before the upgrade to kmail2.
Firefox mailto (under Applications) is fine, as the launch of a kmail's new
message form proves (I checked Firefox configuration too).
It would be interesting to sniff the IPC message that Firefox sent to see if
the information is there or not. I would be glad to help on this, just let me
know what would be an appropriate tool for this purpose.

Regards,
Claudio

--- Comment #7 from Claudio Canavese cod cod-web net 2010-08-31 12:05:25 ---
This bug is still alive in KDE 4.3.2 , KMail 1.12.2, Kontact 4.3.2 on kubuntu
9.10

After adding a custom button to kmail_part toolbar I lost the New Message
button. To have it back again I have to right click on the toolbar - configure
- change something and then apply.

If I switch component and, for example, take a look at my agenda and then
return to kmail, the toolbar has to be fixed again. Same thing happens when
minimizing to tray.

This bug does NOT happen when using kmail as a standalone app: it happens only
when using it through kontact.

I understand that this is the first comment after 2008-09-29, but the bug is
the same and it's still there, so I thought it was a good thing to report it.
