Obviously the part that polls the pop server every 5 minutes is still working. It shows a "Starting Akonadi server" message for some seconds, then a dialog appears to "Provide personal data" (full name, email and password), and practically at the same time I get an error box from kmail that says: "The Email program encountered a fatal error and will terminate now. The error was: Could not create collection inbox, resourceId: 3" I ran kmail with full logs as dvratil suggested and got the attached output. Frequently, I receive html messages that don't set the background colour appropriately and assume a light colour background (e.g. white, very light grey). Switching to text mode sometimes helps but frequently doesn't. A short cut key to switch between dark and light backgrounds would be a great usability improvement. The only solution to get the mailbox synced again is to call 'akonadictl restart'. "Retrieving Folder Contents" appears, followed shortly by the message. 3. A progress bar appears at the bottom: "Syncing folder 'Inbox'" 4. Click on any other unread message. 5. "Retrieving Folder Contents" appears in the message window and stays there until it finishes synchronizing the folder. Actual Results: After the second unread message appears, Kmail resynchronizes the folder again. If I click on another message, it puts off showing it until it finishes syncing the folder. This means I cannot read more that one new message every three minutes. Expected Results: It should show the message immediately. Very handy. So I have all my feeds grouped and just clicking the folder only shows me the unread ones. And the guys are right - for feeds with quite an amount of new articles there are (for what reason ever) new articles popping up up inbetween the timeline. Maybe someone created a publish date for the past or he/she started writing that article hours earlier. You never know. This happens sporadical with no visible relation to the actions before. Although I mainly use korganizer with ToDos and recently for dates / holidays. This might possibly be related to bug 363431 although I upgraded recently to Plasma 5.8 and Kernel 4.7 and Kontact is a higher version now. so I'm no sure. It is much less now, than it was before and usually it closes normally.
