To get the backtrace, you can start kmail with gdb from a command-line, e.g.,
"gdb kmail" in konsole will do. Then type "run", to get kmail running, and when
it crashes, you can type "back"

I think you should not use 'persistent' dictionary in the new mail editor, and
use US dictionary in identities. At least on my laptop, that's how it goes.
