I have a doubt regarding th DNS lookup.
We are using xyz.com domain
Should the machine on which we installed and configured kerberos be able
to resolve the domain which we have mentioned while configuring the
kerberos 5(ie xyz.com)?

It looks like your /usr/lib/tclConfig.sh or your configure script is
corrupt.
configure is a script, which you can read. Looking through it you will
see it finds and runs /usr/lib/tclConfig.sh
which sets among other things:
TCL_PREFIX
... then it runs this bit of code:

We have installed kerberos krb-1.3.4 from rpms available with RHEL4
I have done everything that was specified in the admin guide and one more
thing is the stash file .k5stash was not created even after specigying the
-s option while creating database usine kdb5_util command.
