KDC in Java

Hi,  we are using MIT KDC server. We would like to replace it with a java implementation. I found apacheds-parent-2.0.0-M21 that has a KDC server in it. Is that the right place to get get started?  Is there any doc? Any help is appreciated. Thank you so much Jim
