Did this issue start happening after an update/upgrade? Was there a
kernel version where you were not having this particular problem? This

Since I reported this bug I have switched from the fglrx driver to the
in-tree Radeon driver because the fglrx driver was causing too much
trouble. I have also switched from GNOME 3 to xfce to get rid of Compiz.
After these two changes Ubuntu is running reliably on my laptop.

I get the following error when trying to make the drivers to install.
Is this a known bug, and if so is there a fix being worked for this. My
current system is a HP Precario DV6 model. I don't have the exact model
as the motherboard was recently replaced
The problem still exists. I also installed the upstream kernel but no

Asus K43BR will not boot insta
Tested with Oneiric, and the live CD just don't boot, leaving me with a
'udev [...] timeout modprobe kill [...]' nerver ending messages. Same
with 'nomodeset' option in the live CD's boot.
As said before, I can test with another computer that have this bug too
(H87I-PLUS motherboard) and maybe the
I found that in the failure case, the bios was booting into the general
booting process. While the success case, the kernel was booting into the
resuming process. The failure one mentioned before can't be rebooted
