I suspend by pressing [fn]-[f1], then close the lid and pick up the
laptop. Then on the other site I resume it from suspend.

worked.
My problematic machine has Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation
82579LM Gigabit Network Connection (rev 05) which differs only in
revision number.
So
This change was made by a bot.
