Tried the upstream kernel v4.0-rc2-vivid. It seems to have no issues with the
screen static after returning from a hibernation.

So I've uploaded a second batch of logs. Please note that the first
batch is after closing the lid a couple of times and the system NOT
going to suspend, while the second batch is a couple of minutes later,
and at that point, closing the lid DID got into suspend.
So the issue is intermittent, and
