I can't reproduce this on vivid w.r.t the hang.
For the release all the devs used in bcache setup; it's certainly
awkward. Fundamentally, there's no path in sysfs that contains both the
cache devs and the backing devs. And AFAIK, there is no way to know
that the bcacheX devices is being cached
I've verified that the freeze on shutdown is caused by the same commit.
Contrary to my initial report here, the freeze on shutdown happens late in the
sequence, not early.
I'm used to much longer shutdown times from my desktop :-)

Recently had another report for this issue with 14.04.3. Is this fix in the
queue for 14.04.X as
I'm using Ubuntu 14.04.3 LTS with kernel 3.19.0-26-generic x86_64 with
BCM43142. Neither the patch that was posted in the first place nor your
PPA seem to completely fix the issues. I still experience random
crashes, very long ping times and connection losses.

A bit late in the day, but the 14.04LTS install fails on my system too,
except if I edit the boot line at CD start up, adding acpi=off. Then
it starts sweet as a nut. Oh my system is a AMD A8 6600k with
Integrated graphics | MSI-FM2-A55M-E33 Motherboard
I will add comments on system usability
I'm now on 15.04, BIOS A06, kernel 3.19.0-25, and I still have
intermittent problems, although things are better than they were at
their worst. When I do have problems, removing and reinserting
iwlmvm/iwlwifi fixes it.
