I have same hardware and same problem on Arch with mainline kernels
4.4-4.9 and later on Fedora 25 with (fedora) kernels 4.8.x-4.9.6. So
something is common with Ubuntu.

We installed the 4.9.2 kernel a few days ago. We are still waiting for crash :)
For now, we have more or less 3.1 weeks of uptime.
