Accepted debian-installer into xenial-proposed. The package will build
now and be available at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/debian-
installer/20101020ubuntu451.22 in a few hours, and then in the -proposed
repository.

can boot with the proposed 4.13.0-36-generic #40~16.04.1-Ubuntu i386

It looks like the 4.13.0-32 kernel is still affected by this issue, so I

On Ubuntu 1804 Bionic, with 4.15.0-10 kernel. crash analysis failed. I think
the fixes are yet to pushed to bionic

I installed the linked kernel and the wifi still wasn't working (though
with antenna 1 it didn't even find the wifi in the first place and with
antenna 0 it wouldn't connect (the signal was really really bad though)
so it almost seems as if the problem is even worse than with the 4.13.
Though that
I was booting the same Xenial based HVM guest on the same host (but this
time running Bionic / Xen 4.9). This combination does not crash the
domain when opening HPET. Though the check and code that would do it is
still there. I also found a bug report against xenserver which I believe
