Installing ssh via 'apt install ssh' within a Tilix console session.
Installation completes successfully but presents the error in this
report.
Ubuntu Budgie 18.04 VM in Virtualbox 5.2.8 with Guest Additions
installed. Host PC is running Windows 10 Pro 1709 on an Intel Core
Recent linux-firmware update (1.172 -> 1.173) somehow resolved this
issue, although I cannot spot anything relevant in the changelog.

It's good that the v4.12-rc3 with xenial configs was bad. It means we
should use Xenial configs when performing the bisect and not Artful
configs. I'll kick off another bisect and post the first test kernel.

used is to enable S3 by patching DSDT tables. for those interested: see

it seems to me the root cause is not so much S3 state support is
missing, but that S0i3 isn't
have the same issue. tried latest mainline http://kernel.ubuntu.com
/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v4.16-rc5/ but this does not fix the issue.
dmesg shows ACPI supports S0 S4 S5
/sys/power/mem_sleep shows only [s2idle]
quite a lot of people reporting same problem, see e.g.

ZFS "partially filled holes lose birth time"
Hi all.
I'm a noob in Linux and sorry for my very bad english. I have a G752VM (not VS)
but got same problem with same Touchpad (ELAN1203).
I noticed there is something weird. I use Ubuntu 16.04 LTS installed and
Touchpad doesn't work at all. BUT... if I start my G752VM with a LiveUSB key
I fixed this upstream, which was released in 0.7.4. Bionic has 0.7.5.

I need to do some testing, but we might want to consider using the cache
file. An approach (suggested to my by ryao, I think) was that we first
import the root pool read-only, copy the cache file out of it, export
the pool, and then import the pool read-write using the cache file.
