I asked the customer to test 4.15.0-114-generic on Xenial HWE from
-proposed on their HP DL360 Gen10 machines with the Intel Xeon Gold 5120
CPU. The machine has Sub-NUMA Clustering enabled and it is active.
The machine boots successfully, and there are no call traces or kernel
oops present:

Apparently, cherry-picking 0828137e8f16721842468e33df0460044a0c588b
("powerpc/64s: Don't init FSCR_DSCR in __init_FSCR()") fixes the issue.
Which explains why 5.8 does not show the problem.
Building a kernel with that patch applied so I can test it.

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt upgrade
sudo reboot
After reboot I enabled WiFi and disabled Wired networking.
Wifi ran for 20 minutes before disconnecting.
I can't as I'm already at the latest version. Is there a way to prevent
these messages to fill the logs ?

Christian I work with Neil, the setup is in a qemu VM. so the host OS
is Ubuntu 18.04 in both cases, its just within the Guest VM that the os
changes from 18.04 to 20.04 with the exact same parameters. it is
automated, so the setup is exact comparison with the only difference

The asking for Xenial happened because the kernel fix came back via
upstream stable and had the reference to this bug intact. Xenial was
already released but included previous changes in the changelog to care
for the case of that release not being done.

Both the 18.04 & 16.04 Ubuntu Minimal cloud images use the kvm kernel by
default, so we need this fix applied to those kernels as well. Are
there plans for that so that we can use those Minimal images in LXD?

Hi Niklas, okay, the second one just came in today.
I've build some focal kernel packages that incl. both tickets (4 commits in
total):
06c1c445e1a3 (HEAD -> master-next) s390/pci: fix PF/VF linking on hot plug

0f54ce9be290 s390/pci: fix
I made builds of patched focal (master-next) kernel packages available here for
