Just tested v3.18-rc3-vivid - seems to be working fine. The original bug would occur whenever I tried to sleep after disconnecting from an external monitor or projector. Will update if bug randomly comes back. Should I just keep this kernel version? I'm quite new to this... Thanks! ** Tags added:

I updated the BIOS to 2.59, actually. Throughout the whole process, I had my externam monitor disconnected from my laptop. In this situation, my laptop is able to suspend correctly. However, when I plug in my monitor via a VGA cable, I cannot suspend my laptop, and the same text reappears
