Hello - sorry for the delay. I wanted to reinstall after 14.04 was out. After installing a fresh 14.04 and using the NVIDIA binary driver (ver 331.38 in this instance) the backlight controls work properly with no extra configuration required. They did not however work using the Nouveau display

@penalvch If the C660 brightness controls don't work out of the box with Ubuntu should this bug be closed/invalid? I always come back to this issue after a reinstall to find my comment above. Seems it should be fixed somehow in Unbuntu but I don't know how to triage it. -- You received this bug
