I am experiencing a similar issue, but I'm not sure if it's the same or not. What I experience is that *if I boot with the second monitor attached*, once I unplug it, it will never be detected again. However, if I boot with the second monitor unattached, and then plug it in, I can consistently unplug and replug it and it is always detected.
This is using a USB-C cable for the second monitor. If I instead use an HDMI cable, it always works correctly. Robin, can you confirm whether this is the behaviour you're seeing as well?
