I updated to 13.10 today and installed jsalisbury's packages from
comment #72. Neither his 3.11 kernel, nor the 3.8 kernel from 13.04
work for me. They both show the Ubuntu splash screen for a second or
two and then drop me into the console. Ctrl + Alt + F7 just shows a
blinking cursor.

The mainline kernel wont start correctly (blank screen) from 3.10 and
upwards with a dual monitor setup. Single monitor boots ok but then this
issue I only have with a dual setup. So cant test with new mainline
kernel.

So, after a bit of hacking around, I was able to get my BCM4313 working
with the latest bcmwl-6.30.223.30 and the latest kernel 3.10.0.

Sam Coffland's proposal from comment #29 seems to be the most sensible
IMHO. I also have a BCM4313 on my Acer Aspire One, which has been broken
with this upgraded wl.ko driver. brcmsmac is not an option for me since
it doesn't support ad-hoc mode, which I require.
