I feel like I need to escalate this issue to upstream kernel,

on first boot /etc/zfs/zfs-list.cache/rboot /etc/zfs/zfs-
list.cache/bpool are either missing or empty.
this causes daemon-reload to go bananzas, as zfs generator runs for the
first time and generates many essential mount units. After that if cache
is populated, generators on boot & daemon-reload
subsequent boots are fine.
i wonder if we have a race somewhere, for example. On first boot zfs
cache is out of date. And zfs mount generator doesn't generate mounts
for all the mounted file systems.

I installed encrypted zfs kinetic 20221018 iso build.
Shut down the VM and made a copy of it, such that I can "first boot" all
day long.
On first boot, I added break=bottom command, and changed journald.conf

We have completed analysis on cloud instances. We have not managed to
reproduce the drastic "firefox startup went from 15s to 6s (!) on Igors
reference hardware" result. Most of our results are within insignificant
low single % differences, with some improved results, and with some good
it is not clear which release and which kernel is missing these features
on which hardware.
22.04.2 release is likely to ship with Kinetic's kernel, v5.19. Meaning all of

may have multiple cpu cores, x86, low memory, and many snap revisions.
I.e. 4-5 snaps, with 2-3 revisions of each.
I wonder if it will make sense to set multi_percpu on

Update dwarves-dfsg in focal to version 1.21 from
yes. because that's the old sru cycle. the kernel was already built
on 22nd of June and was undergoing validation. This zfs update was
released to updates after that, on 28th of June.
the next sru cycle that will pick up updated zfs has not started yet.
