If I enable the nvidia driver I get a brightness indicator and a
scrollbar in the "Brightness and Lock" applet. However neither hotkeys
nor the scrollbar have any effect.

In /var/lib/dkms/bcmwl/6.30.223.248+bdcom/ a module for -18 has been
build.
However, this symlink is missing:

Same here on Macbook Pro 11,3. Tomorrow I will have access to a wired
connection.
