The way I understand it is that it not really a problem that needs to
be fixed; rather it is just a change that Apple implemented to their
computer-device protocol. Ubuntu can choose to adapt and support it, or
to ignore it.
Disclaimer: I am not an expert on this, that's just the way I see it :)
